An Extra Fine stamp has a design which is centered both vertically and horizontally, with visible but perhaps unequal vertical and horizontal margins.

A Very Fine stamp has a design which is centered either vertically or horizontally, and the design's edges are well away from the perforations.

A Fine to Very Fine stamp has a design which is centered neither vertically nor horizontally, but the design's edges are away from the perforations.
